'Justice served' as Reo Hatate Celtic footage emerges - pundit

Reo Hatate’s penalty miss for Celtic was “justice served” for Hearts.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Rangers defender Alan Hutton suggested Alex Cochrane’s challenge on Kyogo Furuhashi should not have been a penalty.

As shown on Sky Sports (23 October), the Hoops were awarded a spot kick after Cochrane and Kyogo tangled together inside the Hearts box.

The incident was checked by the VAR officials who saw no reason to overturn the onfield decision but even former Celtic man Chris Sutton, on commentary for the game, felt the decision was incorrect.

Hatate stepped up to the spot for Celtic but his effort hit the post.

The Hoops went on to comfortably win the game 4-1 and keep their spot seven points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

Hutton suggested Hatate’s miss made up for the unfair penalty award.

I did think it was soft,” he told Football Insider.

Kyogo is very clever, he knows Cochrane is going in for the tackle. I think there is a slight touch, I do not think there is enough to make him go down that way.

Chris Sutton normally calls it how it is and he was certainly of the opinion that it was not a penalty.

It was not ideal for Hearts it could have really changed the game but Hatate then goes and misses it so it is maybe justice served but I did think it was a soft penalty.
