Rangers fans will be 'glued' to Ibrox after confirmed news - expert

Rangers fans will be “glued” to the match against Hibernian on Saturday (21 October) to get their first glimpse of Philippe Clement in action.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Gers defender Alan Hutton said fans are finally excited to watch the team play now that there is a new man in charge.

Clement was named as Michael Beale’s successor earlier this week and will be in the dug out for the first time on Saturday as the Gers take on Hibernian.

The 49-year-old joins the Gers having won league titles with Genk and Club Brugge and will be hoping to do the same in Glasgow.

The Light Blues’ last domestic result was a 3-0 win over St Mirren that followed domestic and European defeats at the hands of Aberdeen and Aris Limassol respectively.

When asked if Clement will make drastic changes for his first game, Hutton told Football Insider:I think it will be very close.

I know the likes of [Todd] Cantwell and Danilo have been back in training, if they are ready I think Cantwell could come back in.

I do not think Clement will veer far off what it has been before, he will have his own ideas in terms of how he wants to play, I think that will be the main difference.

I am really looking forward to the game to see what he does. It will be the same for all fans, what is he going to do moving forward? So everybody will be glued to it to see what he does.

In other news, senior man agrees to join Arsenal after telling Rangers he is leaving.
