Wilfried Gnonto can't say no to Premier League offer after Leeds United latest - pundit

Leeds United could lose several “star players” in January, especially if Premier League clubs come calling.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Tottenham and Aston Villa defender Alan Hutton said that players like stand out players like Wilfried Gnonto could be on the way out in the winter window.

The 19-year-old is currently sidelined with an injury and is expected to be out until at least November or even early December, as revealed by Football Insider (1 October).

The Whites are however believed to be willing to offer the attacker improved terms as they prepare to open new contract talks.

The Yorkshire club want to avoid speculation over a potential exit in January after a tumultuous summer window that saw Gnonto fall out with the club.

The Italy international’s current contract runs until 2027 after his arrival from FC Zurich last summer and he has been one of the club’s standout players, attracting interest from Premier League sides such as Everton.

Hutton suggested Gnonto, or any other Leeds stars, wouldn’t be able to turn down a January offer from a top flight side.

It is very difficult for a player who is in the Championship to turn down an offer from a Premier League team,” he told Football Insider.

The likes of Gnonto who are stand out players, if they are playing well for their club then there is always going to be people looking. It is very difficult to turn down that Premier League offer.

In other news, Leeds United have agreed £1.7m deal – and it’s all because of Andrea Radrizzani.
