Ibrox Exclusive: Ex-Rangers ace reveals he's heard details of special Morelos agreement

EXCLUSIVE

Alan Hutton has claimed Alfredo Morelos has a behaviour agreement with Rangers that is “keeping him on the straight and narrow”.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Russell Edge, the ex-Lights Blues and Scotland defender explained how the hothead striker has settled down this season.

Hutton revealed he had “hears” that Morelos has a disciplinary programme in place that’s been agreed with Steven Gerrard and his staff.

The Rangers striker was sent off five times last season – though one was later rescinded – including at Celtic Park in the penultimate Old Firm game of the season.

Asked by Football Insider if Morelos has learned his lesson, Hutton said: “It looks like it. I’ve heard they’ve got a fine thing in place so I think that, I’m hoping, keeps him on the straight and narrow. I think we were all there once.

“I used to get labelled with the red mist and stuff when I was a young kid – it was just enthusiasm, wanting to do well and maybe kind of getting caught up in certain situations where you learn through time and experiences that you have to maybe, right, settle down a little bit.

“I think he’s showed that this year.”

Morelos has picked up just two booking in 12 appearance this season in a clear sign the worst of his discipline issues may be behind him.

The striker has scored 10 goals already in the campaign to lift his tally in a Light Blues shirt to 58 from 103 matches, supplemented by 22 assists.

In other Rangers news, a player with 151 Premier League appearances has REVEALED how he was offered the chance to return to Ibrox.
