'He is Unbelievable' - Exclusive: Alan Hutton drools over Leeds player gone 'to another level'

EXCLUSIVE

Pablo Hernandez has is an “unbelievable” player who has taken his game to “another level” at Leeds United, according to Alan Hutton.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Villa, Tottenham and Rangers full-back admitted the Spanish attacker has been a supremely difficult opponent for him.

Hutton explained how the 34-year-old has the tricks, skill and knowhow to compensate for his lack of pace out wide.

Asked by Football Insider how it difficult it is to defend against Hernandez, Hutton replied: “It’s difficult, it’s so difficult. Ability-wise he is unbelievable and you have to be switched on.

“Nowadays as a full-back I think it’s getting tougher because the wingers, they’ve taken themselves to another level which means full-backs have to do the same.

“He’s just another example of another outstanding winger. You think you’ve got these players, you think: ‘Well I’m faster than him so he’s not going to do anything,’ but the next minute he’s dropped his shoulder and he’s got a yard already and he’s crossed it.

“These players are very difficult to mark, like I said there’s so many teams who have got players that have that ability and it makes it a lot tougher obviously.”

Hernandez was one of three Leeds players – along with Pontus Jansson and Liam Cooper – named in the PFA’s Championship team of the year last season.

There’s been no sign of his powers dimming in the new campaign, with Marcelo Bielsa starting him in all six of United’s league matches, from which he has scored twice and registered two assists.

In other Leeds United news, it can be REVEALED that the club are set to lose loan star in the January window after developments.
