Expert: Lucas Moura may leave Tottenham 'soon' as 'phenomenal' claim made

Lucas Moura could still leave Tottenham before the end of the season after failing to find a new club in January.

That is according to Spurs expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Moura, 30, has been limited to a support role this season, only starting two games for the club in all competitions.

He has not featured for the senior side since the World Cup but featured for the Under-21s in their recent win against Arsenal.

Wenham insists the winger could still leave before the end of the season.

“The thing to consider is that other transfer windows are still open,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“In the past, we have actually moved players on after our own window has shut. That could still happen soon.

“Alternatively, he is a good bench option. Is he better than Bryan Gil? Yes, he is. Suddenly now we could be starting games with Rciharlison, Danjuma and Lucas as bench options.

“Only last month our most advanced bench potions were Pape Sarr and Harvey White. It’s a phenomenal improvement.

“Lucas will be leaving at the end of the season and if Danjuma impresses then we already have a replacement.

“There were reports that Lucas turned down moves to other Premier League clubs in January, I presume that was Everton, who are desperate for signings.”

Moura has made nine appearances off the bench in the league this season.

He has failed to register a goal or assist.
