Michael Beale has 'already agreed' January signing amid 'titanic' Rangers claim - Campbell

Kevin Campbell has claimed Michael Beale may have “already agreed” on potential new signings at Rangers as one of the conditions of his arrival.

The former Arsenal striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the 42-year-old will have “players in mind” despite his limited managerial experience.

Beale was confirmed as the new manager of the Glasgow giants on Monday (28 November) – signing a three-and-a-half-year deal.

Rangers sacked Giovanni van Bronckhorst with the Ibrox club trailing Celtic by nine points atop the Scottish Premiership.

The Gers raked in £27.4million in transfer fees during the summer window – with Joe Aribo, Calvin Bassey, and Cedric Itten moved on.

However, Rangers re-invested just £12.2million during the off-season.

The Glasgow giants announced their latest set of annual financial results last week, which revealed record revenues of £86.8million.

Campbell told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “I’m sure that transfers will have been one part of the negotiations with Beale and Rangers.

“They might have already agreed on their plans for January.

“He will want to upgrade this squad, and I’m sure he will have players in mind.

“He’s got to start trying to claw these points back from Celtic now, and it’s going to be a titanic battle.

“Michael Beale wouldn’t go to Rangers if he didn’t think he would be given the right tools to succeed.”

Rangers get their Scottish Premiership campaign back underway against Hibernian on 15 December.

They face leaders Celtic on 2 January.

In other news, pundit can’t believe “ridiculous” Rangers “backlash” amid emphatic Beale claim.
