It's 'inevitable' Tyler Adams will quit Leeds United after source's reveal - pundit

Kevin Campbell has suggested a Leeds United exit for Tyler Adams may be “inevitable” after his impressive performances for club and country.

The former Arsenal striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the 23-year-old “tackling machine” is “instrumental” to how the Whites play under Jesse Marsch.

Adams impressed during the USA’s 0-0 draw with England last week (25 November) and captained his side as they beat Iran 1-0 on Tuesday (29 November) to qualify for the World Cup’s knockout stage.

As per FBref, the midfielder has completed the second-most tackles of any player at the tournament.

Adams has also made the second-most tackles of any Premier League player this season (52), behind Fulham star Joao Palhinha (65).

Football Insider revealed last month (26 October) that Man United are keeping close tabs on the Leeds United midfielder after long-held interest in his services.

Reports from Italy have also linked him to giants Inter Milan.

Campbell claimed he “wouldn’t be surprised” to see Adams move on from Elland Road.

He told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “If you’re Jesse Marsch and Leeds United, you’re desperate for him to stay.

“He’s a tackling machine, isn’t he? He’s a very good player.

“But if you’re doing well both at the international level and for your club, it’s inevitable. These links start cropping up, and bigger teams start taking notice.

“It wouldn’t surprise me to see him go, but he’s so instrumental to how Leeds United play.

“The aggressive nature they have, he fits right into that set up.”
