Alexandre Lacazette: Pundit suggests West Ham could seal 'quick fix' deal after latest

West Ham could turn to Alexandre Lacazette for a “quick fix” this summer if Arsenal decline to offer him a new deal, according to Noel Whelan.

The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the Gunners will be looking to replace the 30-year-old with someone capable of excelling over the next “five to six years”.

According to TEAMtalk (16 March), West Ham are monitoring Lacazette’s situation closely as they look to add a forward to their ranks this summer.

The report claims Italian giants AC and Inter Milan are both interested in the Frenchman, while Lyon and Aston Villa are also firmly in the race.

Lacazette, who joined Arsenal in 2017 for a reported £46.5million, is out of contract this summer.

Whelan claimed the Hammers could turn to the Frenchman’s proven Premier League quality for “a year or two”.

“Nothing is off the table right now for Lacazette and Arsenal,” he told Football Insider‘s Russell Edge.

“It’s one of those positions where nothing will be decided until the summer.

“Arsenal, in my opinion, are probably wanting to look for more longevity rather than just opting for the quick fix.

“West Ham, on the other hand, may well want the quick fix for a year or two.

“Arsenal will be out there looking at strikers who can come and perform for the next five or six years. They’ll want to add to that young side.

“It’s exciting, it looks more balanced – they’re going to be contenders next year.”

Michail Antonio is West Ham’s only recognised senior forward.

Lacazette has notched six goals and seven assists this term.

In other news, pundit claims West Ham already have Jarrod Bowen replacement in the ranks.
