Liverpool news: Pundit fears 'there's only one outcome' for Mohamed Salah after source reveal

Paul Robinson fears “there is only one possible outcome” for Mohamed Salah at Liverpool.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one suggested a summer exit is now likely for the 29-year-old with neither side “willing to budge” on contract negotiations.

A source with knowledge of Salah’s situation told this site (12 March) that the forward wants to remain in the Premier League if he cannot agree a new deal at Anfield.

Speaking to club media (11 March) Jurgen Klopp revealed the club has done all they can to convince the Egypt captain to stay and that is was now down to the player to make a decision.

Salah’s current contract on Merseyside expires in the summer of 2023.

When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his thoughts on the Premier League top-scorer’s future, Robinson said: “It’s a difficult situation.

“If nobody is willing to budge there is only one possible outcome and that is that he leaves.

“I am sure Klopp is doing all he can do get the club to budge slightly. To replace Mohamed Salah is an almost impossible task.

“How much is that going to cost? Liverpool have got other quality options in attack but Salah’s responsible for a lot of the goals. If he leaves there would be a big onus on other players. It would leave a huge gap were he to leave.”

In other news, a pundit has claimed Liverpool may be handed an unfair advantage after a major Premier League development.
