Antonio Conte: Tottenham told to brace for Man United and PSG approaches after reveal - 'I'm in no doubt'

Tottenham boss Antonio Conte will be approached by Manchester United and Paris Saint Germain this summer.

That’s according to former West Ham hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Spurs manager’s next move.

On 18 February, a French source told Football Insider that PSG are considering replacements for Mauricio Pochettino and Conte is high on their target list.

PSG’s exit from the Champions League cast fresh doubt on Pochettino’s future with the club’s wait for an elusive Champions League trophy set to continue for at least another year.

McAvennie claims Spurs face a fight to keep Conte this summer.

“I think the ideal move for Conte is to go to Man United, he could leave, I’m in no doubt,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“Would he go to PSG? Possibly. They have all that money. He could handle the big personalities over there.

“I don’t know whether he would accept the power the players have over there.

“Conte is proven at the Premier League level and you know he will be backed at Man United.

“He’s not been given what he was promised at Tottenham and they will take a lot of work to get close to winning a trophy.

“One thing is for certain, they will both come in for him in the summer, Spurs have a fight on their hands if they want to keep him.”

A Man United source told Football Insider on Friday (11 March) the club are set to “go all out” to lure Thomas Tuchel from Chelsea at the end of the season.

He is regarded by the United hierarchy as “by far the best candidate” given his pedigree, Premier League experience and proven ability at winning the biggest trophies.
