Sources: Rangers set to announce new signing as 10 deals lined up

Rangers are set to announce Dujon Sterling as their next summer signing once Chelsea’s season has drawn to a close, sources have told Football Insider.

The right-back, 23, has signed a pre-contract deal at Ibrox and will become the club’s second signing this summer after Kieran Dowell was announced on Wednesday (24 May).

Manager Michael Beale is working hard on multiple deals and Rangers could see up to 10 new faces join the club in a huge summer revamp of the squad.

Out-of-contract defender Sterling was offered a renewal by Chelsea – as well as other opportunities at Stoke and several other English clubs.

However, he has chosen to join the ranks at Ibrox with the opportunity to play regular first-team football and potentially in the Champions League too hard to turn down.

Sterling played 28 times across all competitions for Stoke City this season.

He made just two senior appearances for Chelsea after joining their academy at Under-8 level in 2007.

Rangers have kickstarted major changes to their squad in recent weeks, with key figures such as Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent and Allan McGregor all set to depart from the club when their contract expire at the end of this month.

Beale’s side are on a major recruitment drive and are in talks with targets in England and across Europe – despite the 2022-23 season not yet reaching a conclusion.

It is believed that Los Angeles FC midfielder Jose Cifuentes is also closing in on a move to Ibrox.

Manager Beale has stated that the 2023-24 campaign will be vastly different from this season which has seen Rangers lose out domestically, with rivals Celtic chasing a treble.
