Danilo heads to Glasgow as Rangers finalise £5.1m deal - sources

Danilo will travel to Scotland in the next 24 hours to complete his move to Rangers, sources have told Football Insider.

The striker has already said goodbye to his Feyenoord teammates as he prepares to jet into Glasgow and join the Gers.

On Tuesday (25 July), Football Insider revealed that the Gers have been closing in on a £5.1million deal for the 24-year-old.

Talks between the clubs have been progressing well and the sides are set to finalise terms on a £40,000-per-week deal which would see him become one of the highest-ever paid players in the club’s history.

On Friday (21 July), Football Insider revealed that the Gers tabled a new £5m bid for the striker after seeing their opening offered rejected last month.

Manager Michael Beale is keen to add more attacking firepower to his squad, particularly following the exists of Alfredo Morelos and Antonio Colak.

Beale identified Danilo and a top target and the attacker reportedly made it clear to Feyenoord that he would prefer to leave the club in the coming months and complete a move to Scotland.

The Brazilian still has three years remaining on his contract with the Eredivisie side after he joined from Ajax 12 months ago.

Danilo made 48 appearances across all competitions last season and was in the starting lineup for less than half of those outings but still managed to find the back of the net 14 times.
