Sources: Rangers submit new Danilo bid after offer rejected

Rangers have tabled a new £5million bid for Feyenoord star Danilo, sources have told Football Insider.

Michael Beale is eager to add more firepower to his side this summer and has highlighted the 24-year-old striker as a top target.

Rangers opened proceedings with a bid last month, but the Dutch side were quick to reject the offer.

It is understood that the Glasgow giants have now returned with a new and improved offer of £5million for the Brazilian.

It has been reported that Danilo has made it clear to Feyenoord this week that he would prefer to leave the Eredivisie side this summer in favour of a move to Scotland.

Danilo was a regular under manager Arne Slot last season, playing a total of 2,057 minutes for Feyenoord during the 2022/23 campaign over 48 appearances.

The Brazilian forward was in fine form in front of goal, scoring 14 times and assisting four across all competitions.

Danilo helped Feyenoord to win the league title in the Netherlands ahead of fierce rivals PSV Eindhoven and Ajax.

He finished second in Feyenoord’s scoring charts last season behind Santiago Giminez, who netted 15 in the league campaign.

Danilo has spent the entirety of his career in the Netherlands after starting out at Ajax in 2020. A loan spell at FC Twente followed in the 2020/21 campaign before joining Feyenoord on a four-year contract in 2022.

The Sao Paulo-born striker has also represented Brazil at Under-23 level after impressing in the Eredivisie.
