Sources: Leeds United accelerate moves for two January loan signings

Leeds United are eyeing two loan signings ahead of the January transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.

Daniel Farke and his recruitment staff are scouring the market in all positions as they strive to improve the Whites squad for their promotion push in the new year.

Leeds have space for two loan players in their matchday squad with Djed Spence, Joe Rodon and Jaidon Anthony already at Elland Road on temporary deals.

It is believed the Yorkshire giants are keen to fill those openings in January and are eyeing players struggling for game time in the Premier League.

A well-placed source has also told Football Insider that Leeds will have a decent budget to make other permanent signings if required.

Rodon has been the most successful of the Whites’ loan imports so far this season, starting 13 of their 15 Championship games.

Spence, who followed Rodon from Spurs to Leeds, has made just one appearance but is closing in on a return to action following a knee injury.

Anthony, who joined from Bournemouth on a season-long deal in the summer, has managed one goal in 12 appearances.

Leeds are now on the hunt for further reinforcements as the race for promotion to the Premier League hots up.

The Whites missed the chance to close the gap to second-place Ipswich after dropping two points away at Rotherham on Friday (24 November).

That result also allowed Championship leaders Leicester to extend their advantage over Farke’s side to 10 points.

Leeds are next in action at home against Swansea on Wednesday (29 November) before hosting Middlesbrough on Saturday (2 December).
