Sources: Kyle Walker set for Man City showdown talks after key development

Kyle Walker is set to tell Pep Guardiola and Man City he want to join Bayern Munich this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

Bayern have got a verbal agreement from the England right-back, who is happy with the terms proposed by the German club on a long-term deal.

Clubs are yet to come to an understanding over a figure for the 33-year-old but a deal is expected to happen in the coming weeks for Walker to complete a move to Germany.

Man City have already shortlisted their proffered options for a replacement with Achraf Hakimi and Benjamin Pavard both making the list.

The Citizens were always keen to freshen up their options in the defence this summer, despite talks with Walker over a new deal to extend his stay at the Etihad.

Bayern have been admirers of Walker since last summer and made an early enquiry for the defender back in 2022, however talks never progressed from there.

He has remained top of their list this summer and they are now closing in on a deal for the England international to move to the Allianz Arena.

City have already added Matteo Kovacic to their ranks and are closing in on a deal for Josko Gvardiol, a long-term favourite of manager Pep Guardiola.

Walker has played 254 times for Man City since joining from Tottenham in 2017 and he has also been capped 76 times by England.

In other news, Man City now willing to sell talent with buy back clause possible.
