Sources: Newcastle now plot raid for Wolves star amid Kieran Tierney update

Newcastle have added Hugo Bueno to their shortlist of potential left-back incomings sources have told Football Insider.

The Wolves defender is seen as a potential signing alongside Tino Livramento from Southampton.

Bueno, 22, has gained interest from the Magpies, but Eddie Howe’s side are still yet to submit an official bid for the Spanish defender.

Football Insider exclusively revealed on Saturday  8 July) that Kieran Tierney is the top left-back target for Newcastle following Antonee Robinson’s decision to sign a new five-year Fulham deal.

Football Insider first revealed Newcastle’s interest in Robinson, 25, back in February – with Eddie Howe targetting an attack-minded left-back option with more pace than Dan Burn.

But the Magpies are now exploring a move for Tierney – whose future at Arsenal remains unclear despite the start of the 2023-24 campaign rapidly approaching.

Football Insider revealed earlier last week (6 July) that the Scotland international is set to hold a conversation with Gunners boss Mikel Arteta to finalise whether or not he will stay at the Emirates – which could open the door to a bid from the Tyneside club.

Despite interest in Tierney, Bueno has still been shortlisted by Newcastle as an alternative signing.

Bueno joined Wolves in 2019 from CD Areosa where he started his career.

The Spaniard played 21 games for Wolves in the Premier League last season, where he contributed with one assist.

Football Insider revealed on Friday (7 July) that Newcastle are planning to complete their summer business with deals for a left-back, centre-back and wide forward.
