Sources: Major update on Alex Iwobi's Everton future after offer submitted

Everton will have to receive a very good offer if they are to consider selling Alex Iwobi this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

The Toffees are still awaiting confirmation from the midfielder after they offered him a four-year contract extension.

The 27-year-old has a year left on his deal at Goodison Park and his future remains up in the air going into the final seven weeks of the window.

Iwobi’s decision is still yet to be made, as there is no clarity on whether he will sign on with the Premier League side.

Sean Dyche’s side confirmed their Premier League status on the final day of last season with a 1-0 win over Bournemouth that saved them from the drop by two points.

Iwobi was an important part of the Everton side last campaign and had started all 38 of their top flight games, scoring twice and providing eight assists in those outings.

On 17 March, Football Insider revealed that the midfielder had been offered a new deal by the Toffees amid interest from Premier League and European clubs.

Everton paid £28million to land Iwobi from Arsenal back in the summer of 2019 and have also paid a further £7m in add-ons since his arrival.

Iwobi has made 138 appearances for the club since his arrival on Merseyside with nine goals and 16 assists to his name across those outings.
