Sources: Kieran Tierney holding Arsenal sit-down talks about his future

Kieran Tierney’s Arsenal future will be decided this week, sources have told Football Insider.

Tierney is set to hold a conversation with Gunners boss Mikel Arteta at the end of the week to finalise whether or not he will stay at the Emirates.

Sources say the Scot, 26, has previously had conversations with Arteta but nothing confirming his future as yet.

Last month (15 June), Football Insider revealed that the Londoners have been braced for bids for the 26-year-old this summer.

Newcastle United are in pole position to land his signature and the defender is believed to be top of Eddie Howe’s shortlist for a new addition at left-back, whilst Premier League champions Man City have also sounded out the possibility of a deal.

Last week (30 June), Football Insider also revealed that the Scotland international was still waiting to hear from Arsenal if they wanted him to stay for the upcoming season.

But it is now understood that Tierney’s position at the club will be decided in the coming days.

The former Celtic man’s current contract runs until 2025 after he joined from the Scottish champions back in 2019.

But game time has been hard to come by for the defender as a result of injury issues and the arrival of Oleksandr Zinchenko from Man City last summer, a left-back who is more suited to Arteta’s style.

Tierney made 36 appearances for the Gunners across all competitions last season and was in the starting lineup for 15 of those outings.

In other news, Arsenal have reached full agreements on two new signings.
