Sources: Bundesliga and La Liga clubs in race to sign Tottenham star Troy Parrott

Tottenham striker Troy Parrott is a loan target for a number of clubs this summer – including two Eredivisie sides, one Bundesliga outfit and one La Liga team, sources have told Football Insider.

These foreign clubs are battling it out to take the Republic of Ireland international, 21, on loan from Spurs before the close of the transfer window next month.

Parrott is ready for the next stage of his development after spending the 2022-23 campaign on loan at Preston North End in the Championship, and Tottenham are willing to let him go.

He scored four goals in 21 starts with a mid-season knee injury hampering his progress at Deepdale.

Parrott, who is under contract at Tottenham until June 2025, has been out on several loans since coming through the ranks at Hotspur Way.

The youngster notched 31 goals and six assists in 38 games for Spurs’ youth sides to prove his readiness for first-team action.

He has had spells at Millwall, MK Dons, Preston and Ipswich in the Championship and League One – notching 16 goals and eight assists in 113 appearances for his temporary sides.

Parrott has also made four appearances for Tottenham’s senior side but is yet to start.

The Dublin-born striker was given his senior Republic of Ireland debut in 2019 after showing a lethal touch at youth level.

He has gone on to play 20 times for his country, scoring four goals and assisting two.

Parrott is working with the first team during training but was not part of the matchday squad which drew 2-2 away at Brentford on Sunday (13 August).

Tottenham have moved to add a new young striker this summer, with Argentina Under-20 international Alejo Véliz joining from Rosario on a six-year deal.
