Sources: Saudi club set sights on signing Everton star Demarai Gray

Everton star Demarai Gray is wanted by a host of clubs including Premier League duo Fulham and Crystal Palace, sources have told Football Insider.

It is believed the 27-year-old also has ‘huge money’ interest from Saudi Arabia as the country’s free-spending footballing project continues.

Gray is edging towards an exit from Goodison Park this summer despite only joining the club two years ago.

A well-placed source has told Football Insider that Everton have made no progress in contract talks with the newly-minted Jamaica international.

The winger is only under contract until June 2024.

Everton have the option to extend his deal a further 12 months – but would prefer to tie the 27-year-old down to a longer-term deal if possible.

Gray was a key man for Sean Dyche’s men last season as they narrowly avoided relegation with a win over Bournemouth on the final day of the 2022-23 campaign.

He notched six goals and one assist in 36 appearances across all competitions.

The former Leicester City star joined the club from Bayer Leverkusen in 2021 for a reported fee of just £1.7million.

Everton could be set to rake in a huge profit on the versatile forward this summer with Dyche eyeing transfer business of his own.

Football Insider revealed on Tuesday (25 July) that Everton are leading the race to sign Leeds United starlet Wilfried Gnonto.

Ashley Young and Arnaut Danjuma have already joined the Merseysiders with the new season set to get underway in less than three weeks.
