Leeds sources: Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest handed 'huge' Tyler Adams update

Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams is hopeful he can recover from his hamstring injury ahead of schedule to increase the possibility of him securing a move before the close of the transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.

Leeds boss Daniel Farke claimed Adams was set to be out of action until the international break in September after suffering a setback in his recovery from a hamstring problem.

However, Adams is thought to be making good progress with his recovery and, although he will miss the start of the new EFL season this week, he is aiming to return to light training next week and be available to play before the end of August.

The news would come as a “huge” boost to the interested suitors in Adams.

Aston Villa, Chelsea and Nottingham Forest are all weighing up moves for the USA international before the close of the transfer window.

On 9 June, Football Insider revealed that the 24-year-old told the Yorkshire club that he wants to leave this summer to avoid playing in the Championship.

The USA international’s current contract at Elland Road runs until 2027 after joining in a £20million deal from RB Leipzig last summer.

The midfielder made 26 appearances for the Whites across all competitions last season before picking up a hamstring injury the sidelined him for the majority of the final two months of the 2022-23 campaign.

Adams failed to register an attacking return in his 2,293 minutes of footballing action last term.
