Sources: Chelsea on track to land £10m windfall - clauses revealed

Chelsea could earn a total of £10million from their Oman Air deal thanks to clauses inserted into the agreement, Football Insider understands.

The Blues announced a multi-year deal with Oman Air to become the club’s official airline partner.

Football Insider sources understand that the agreement between the two parties is a three-year deal with annual payments of around £2.8-£3million.

The total value of the deal is expected to earn Chelsea a guaranteed £9million, but clauses within the agreement means Todd Boehly’s side could bank an eight-figure fee.

Oman Air and Chelsea agreed on clauses that could see the fee rise to £10million based on the club’s success this season.

The deal will also see Oman Air granted brand representation around Stamford Bridge during matchday.

The Londoners reported commercial revenue of £177million in their latest 2021/22 accounts, but that figure is expected to change significantly given the club’s struggle with sponsorship this summer.

Chelsea are still yet to find a front-of-shirt sponsor after talks broke down with Allianz, Paramount Plus and Stake over potential deals.

The club’s kit was launched this month without a sponsor, but fans were told shirts are not yet available to purchase with the club still searching for a suitable partner.

The Premier League giants earned £40million per season from their previous deal with Three, but Football Insider revealed on Wednesday (12 July) that Chelsea have now lowered their asking price to £25million per season.

The club are also without a sleeve sponsor after crypto-company WhaleFin terminated a £20million per year agreement just seven months after it was signed.
