Sources: Crystal Palace star Rob Street agrees Cheltenham move

Crystal Palace striker Rob Street has agreed to join Cheltenham on a free transfer, sources have told Football Insider.

Street, 21, is out of contract at Palace later this month and is set to leave Selhurst Park as a free agent.

A number of Football League clubs have shown an interest in Street, but Cheltenham have moved to secure the striker’s signature in a permanent deal.

Street spent last season on loan at Shrewsbury Town, making 43 appearances in all competitions and scoring four League One goals.

The forward built his first team experience with previous loan spells to Newport County and Torquay United as he prepared to make the switch to Cheltenham

The striker didn’t manage his first team debut at Palace but featured 38 times for their under-21s side, scoring 15 goals and providing four assists in those outings.

Speaking to club media ahead of his last game for the club (3 May), Street said he has “loved every minute” of his season as Shrewsbury and has “nothing but happy memories” of his time at the club.

Cheltenham are hoping to improve on their 16th place League One finish ahead of the 2023-24 campaign.

The League One side have already lost Charlie Brown, Christian Norton and Callum Ebanks from their attacking line.

Cheltenham boss Wade Elliott now has Alfie May, Aidan Keena, George Lloyd and Will Goodwin to choose from in his attack.

In other news, West Ham, Fulham and Crystal Palace told £20m will seal deal for Strasbourg hitman.
