Sources: Exeter City agree deal for Luton Town star Muskwe
Luton Town striker Admiral Muskwe is set to join Exeter City on loan, sources have told Football Insider.
Muskwe, 25, has fallen well down the pecking order at newly-promoted Premier League outfit Luton and they are happy to loan him out for the remainder of the season.
A number of EFL clubs have shown an interest in Muskwe, but Exeter are set to win the race for the Zimbabwe international after agreeing the terms of a deal.
The League One side have been in the market for a new striker to replace Sam Nombe after he departed for Rotherham.
Jack Aitchison and Nombe have taken it in turns leading the line for Exeter at the start of the season, so the latter’s exit has left a hole in Gary Caldwell’s side.
Muskwe has not made a single appearance for Luton at the start of the 2023/24 season, with manager Rob Edwards preferring the striker duo of Elijah Adebayo and Carlton Morris.
Muskwe joined Luton in 2021 from Leicester City, but he has struggled to nail down a regular spot in the lineup since completing the move.
He spent the first half of the 2022/23 season on loan at Fleetwood Town, where he scored three times in 12 league appearances.
Muskwe has only featured 26 times in all competitions for Luton and has scored just twice.
He could make his Exeter debut this Saturday when their League One campaign resumes with a trip to Burton.
