'Feeling unwell watching this' - Newcastle fans seethe as latest controversial PSG footage analysed

Newcastle United fans are seething after a “joke” penalty was given to PSG late in the game in their Champions League clash on Tuesday night (28 November).

Ousmane Dembele flicked the ball onto Tino Livramento but it deflected from his midriff and onto his forearm, which was enough for referee Szymon Marciniak to award a spot kick in the 97th minute after reviewing the footage.

Kylian Mbappe dispatched the penalty to break the Magpies’ hearts and level the game at 1-1, meaning Newcastle dropped vital points in their bid to reach the knock-out rounds.

Alexander Isak opened the scoring at the Parc des Princes after 24 minutes, but Eddie Howe’s side were firmly on the defensive having faced 31 shots and managing just 27.6 per cent possession against the French champions.

Nethertheless, Newcastle fans have taken to social media in a state of fury to slam the “blatant match-fixing”.

This fan believes that the decision is hard evidence that UEFA and the “beautiful game” is unfair.

One fan accused UEFA of match-fixing as the penalty call was the worst in three decades.

This fan could not quite believe his eyes when he saw the decision.

This supporter claimed the robbery made him feel physically sick.

Another supporter suggested the decision was not only dodgy but the “most corrupt” call he’d ever witnessed.

This Magpie was confident that the blunder would “haunt” the referee despite him having a good game up to this point.

This supporter suggested that PSG’s “big name” status afforded them special treatment at the Magpies’ expense.

This fan was lost for words when it came to discussing the penalty decision.

In other news, Newcastle United could now accept Jacob Murphy ‘offer’ – ‘money talks’, says pundit.
