Sources: Man United will accept Anthony Martial offer
Anthony Martial’s future at Man United is yet to be decided with his contract up at the end of the season, sources have told Football Insider.
The 27-year-old was one of the heroes for Erik ten Hag’s side as they ran out 3-0 winners against Everton on Sunday (26 November).
It is believed Man United would be open to letting Martial leave the club in January – if they receive a suitable offer.
But a well-placed source has told Football Insider that will only happen if the Red Devils can first bring in another striker in the new year.
The Old Trafford club do not want to leave themselves short with summer signing Rasmus Hojlund yet to make his mark in Premier League football.
Martial’s goal against Everton was his second in 16 appearances across all competitions this season.
He has started in just five of those games with Hojlund the undisputed first-choice forward for Ten Hag.
The former France international is out of contract at the end of the season, but Man United have the option to extend his deal by a further 12 months.
Martial was a more regular feature last term but hit just nine goals in 29 appearances across all competitions.
He earns a reported wage of around £250,000-a-week at Old Trafford.
The ex-Monaco ace has racked up 90 goals and 55 assists in 314 appearances since joining for a reported initial fee of £38.5million in 2015.
Man United sit sixth in the Premier League following the win over Everton.
Ten Hag’s side are next in action against Galatasaray on Wednesday (29 November) with their Champions League future on the line.
