Man City star Jack Grealish 'getting pelters from the fans' after what pundit spotted - 'I was there'

Paul Robinson has revealed Man City winger Jack Grealish was “getting pelters” from Tottenham fans on Sunday.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Spurs and England number one said the 27-year-old was looking over to the bench expecting to be subbed every time the fourth official put his board up.

Grealish started Man City’s 1-0 loss to Spurs on Sunday (5 February).

The attacking midfielder got Cristian Romero sent off late on but failed to get Pep Guardiola’s side on the scoresheet.

Speaking to club media post-match (5 February), Guardiola praise Grealish for his “aggression” and “commitment”.

When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of Grealish’s performances, Robinson said: “I was there and he was getting pelters from the Spurs fans.

“Every time the sub board came up he looked over. You could tell that he thought he was going to get brought off.

“He got better and better each time the manager kept him on though. You could see that he expected to see his number go up. The manager sticked with him though and although they didn’t win, it paid dividends because Grealish reacted well.

“With each game that goes by, Grealish is getting better. He’s not scoring regularly but he is contributing.”

Grealish has been a regular in City’s side this season.

He has contributed two goals and four assists in 26 appearances across all competitions.
