'One of the worst players I've ever seen' - Arsenal fans react to Kai Havertz display in 3-1 West Ham defeat

Arsenal fans didn’t hold back on social media after Kai Havertz’s poor performance in the 3-1 Carabao Cup defeat on Wednesday evening.

The Gunners were sent crashing out of the tournament in the round of 16 by London rivals West Ham.

Ben White’s own goal put Arsenal on the back foot, and Mohammed Kudus and Jarrod Bowen added to the host’s lead before Martin Odegaard’s late consolation.

Havertz was named as a starter by Mikel Arteta, and the German midfielder was kept on the pitch for the entire 90 minutes despite struggling to impact the game.

The 24-year-old made a £65million move from Chelsea to the Emirates this summer but has so far failed to live up to his price tag.

He has made 16 appearances for the Gunners in 2023/24 but has just one goal and one assist to his name in over 1,000 minutes of football.

Despite Arteta playing him in multiple midfield roles and also occasionally as a centre-forward, Havertz has not yet settled into a position in the starting lineup.

Arsenal fans on social media were left furious at Havertz after another underwhelming performance against West Ham on Wednesday.

Some fans have already seen enough and want Havertz out of the club in January.

Some fans went as far as calling Havertz one of the worst players to ever play for the club.

Should Arsenal have kept hold of Joe Willock instead? This fan certainly thinks so.

Others were left frustrated by Havertz’s ‘casual’ style of play…
