Kyogo Furuhashi 'isolated' at Celtic - 'He's going to lose the plot', says pundit

Kyogo Furuhashi is “isolated” at Celtic due to a lack of service.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Rangers and West Ham striker Frank McAvennie claimed that midfielder Callum McGregor’s lack of forward passing for the striker would make Kyogo “lose the plot”.

Despite sitting at the top of the league, the Hoops were dismantled by Atletico Madrid 6-0 on Tuesday (7 November) with just one attempted shot at the Civitas Metropolitan Stadium.

Kyogo has scored seven goals in all competitions this season – including the opener in the Hoops’ 2-2 home clash against Diego Simeone’s side earlier this season.

McAvennie suggested the Japanese international has had a lack of service since joining the club.

“I feel sorry for Kyogo,” he told Football Insider.

“He’s not getting used as much as he should, he should be getting used more often.

“I’m starting to see McGregor passing the ball backwards all the time. He controls the game if you like, but he always has people coming at him.

“The first thing he needs to do is look forward. Callum is not doing that, he’s passing it sideways or back.

“We need to start feeding Kyogo because he’s going to lose the plot a little bit because nobody is trying to find him.

“Since he walked into the club, I’ve never seen a striker so isolated. That’s a problem for me.”
