West Ham told to 'leak' David Moyes news - 'I make no apologies'
Someone must “leak” news regarding David Moyes’ future at West Ham United.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Hammers and Celtic striker Frank McAvennie wants the Scotsman’s future sorted but has grown tired of the club’s poor performances.
Moyes’ current contract expires at the end of the season with seemingly no replacement lined up by the club or any update on an extension to his deal.
The former Man United boss has faced pressure in both his stints in Stratford, but European qualification and a Europa Conference League trophy have brought the Hammers their most success in decades.
McAvennie is eager for an update but admitted that he will not apologise for disliking the current style of play.
“They’ve got to sort out if Moyes is staying or going,” he told Football Insider.
“It’s not going to be helpful for anybody at the club. It’s the only thing that seems to have been kept quiet.
“Sometimes the owners will come out or people from the inside will leak something.
“This has all been kept quiet, so I think somebody needs to leak something about the manager’s situation.
“I don’t know what’s going to happen with David, but the football isn’t good enough at the moment.
“They’re getting results but the performances are not good, not for me anyway.
“I make no apologies.”
