'Wouldn't get a game in the Championship' - Liverpool fans react to Caoimhin Kelleher performance in 4-3 win against Fulham

Liverpool fans on social media were unhappy with the performance of back-up goalkeeper Coaimhin Kelleher during their 4-3 Premier League win against Fulham on Sunday afternoon.

Trent Alexander-Arnold scored an 88th-minute winner as Liverpool mounted a stunning late comeback to beat Fulham in a seven-goal thriller at Anfield.

On a day of high drama and some truly sensational goals, there was also some low-level defending, not least from the home side.

Harry Wilson scored the first equaliser for Fulham when he connected with Antonee Robinson’s cross and slid the ball through Kelleher’s legs to level the score at 1-1.

Kenny Tete netted Fulham’s second equaliser in first-half injury time and Bobby De Cordova-Reid headed the Cottagers into the lead in the 80th minute.

Fulham had looked set to end Liverpool’s 13-month unbeaten home record in the Premier League. Instead, the Reds kept up their perfect record at Anfield this season and cut Arsenal’s lead at the top to two points.

Kelleher had been brought into the starting lineup by Jurgen Klopp to replace Alisson, who is out for weeks with a hamstring injury sustained in the 1-1 draw against Man City eight days earlier.

Klopp is hopeful that Alisson will return to face Manchester United later this month, but that could leave Liverpool relying on Kelleher for five matches.

Liverpool fans were unimpressed by the 25-year-old Irish international after his worrying display at Anfield.

Naturally, fans started to compare Kelleher to Allison.

This supporter went as far as stating that watching Kelleher is ‘torture’.

The criticism continued with this fan claiming that Kelleher would struggle to get a game in the Championship.
