'This has finished his career here for good', 'It's too much' - Arsenal fans react to unexpected Aaron Ramsdale development

Arsenal fans are fuming with Aaron Ramsdale’s father after his “totally unnecessary” interview.

Nick Ramsdale went on the Highbury Squad podcast and blasted Mikel Arteta for dropping his son after one season as number one, claiming the nature of his axing was “wrong”.

The £24million man started the first four Premier League games for the Gunners but was soon replaced by summer signing David Raya, who has started all the subsequent Premier League and Champions League clashes.

As revealed by Football Insider (12 November), Arsenal are unwilling to let Ramsdale leave this January despite his links to Chelsea.

Gunners fans have taken to social media to call out his father and many believe this could spell the end of his Emirates career once and for all.

This fan has called for Ramsdale to be sold as his father’s comments have brought “more tension than is needed”.

This supporter claimed that the interview would do his career no good and highlighted former first-choice goalkeeper Bernd Leno’s departure when Ramsdale joined last season.

This fan believes Ramsdale’s days are numbered in North London and his motormouth family “talks too much”.

This fan slammed the interview for having “no benefit whatsoever” and simply causing pointless controversy at the club.

One Gunner mocked Ramsdale’s dad and urged him to “cry more” after his reaction.

One fan pleaded with the goalkeeper to haul his dad away from the limelight.

This supporter claimed that Ramsdale’s Arsenal career was already over, but this interview was the final nail in his coffin.

One fan dubbed the interview “pointless” and suggested hypocrisy after Leno was axed in a similar fashion.
