Sources: Aston Villa reach full agreement over Daniel Mole deal

Aston Villa have agreed a deal with Walsall director Daniel Mole, sources have told Football Insider.

The League Two outfit’s club secretary is set to join the Midlands giants as assistant club secretary.

It is believed that Mole has agreed terms with Villa and will make the short journey across the Midlands when he has completed his notice period at Walsall.

He is being hired by Villa due to his extensive administrative expertise gained over 21 years at the club.

Mole started his career at the Bescot Stadium in 2002 after giving up his job as a local journalist to lead the club’s media department.

He was appointed assistant club secretary in 2008 and was then promoted to club secretary in 2009 before becoming a director in 2015,

It has been a time of considerable change at Villa, with the Premier League side altering a number of senior figures in recent months.

Football Insider exclusively broke the news on 30th October that Villa’s recruitment chief Rob MacKenzie was set to join Tottenham as their chief scout, and that was confirmed by Spurs shortly afterwards.

Villa restructured much of their football department this summer, with former Sevilla director Ramon Rodriguez Verdejo ‘Monchi’ joining as the club’s new football chief.

Monchi works closely with Unai Emery on the footballing side of the club, reporting to club owners Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens.

Following Monchi’s recruitment, Johan Lange was demoted to a new role and quit join Tottenham as their technical director, starting at the London giants on 1st November.
