'This is a miracle', 'I'm going to cry' - Tottenham fans react as Van de Ven image emerges from Hotspur Way

Tottenham fans have reacted to a potential “miracle” after an image of Micky van de Ven emerged online.

The centre-back was forced off the pitch towards the end of the first half in Spurs’ 4-1 defeat to Chelsea with a suspected long-term hamstring injury.

Ange Postecoglou admitted after the game that the Dutchman’s injury looked like a “pretty significant one” and assumed he’d “be out for a little while”, but images from the training ground may suggest something different.

While it remains unclear when the photo was taken and it may have been repurposed from months ago, the image seemingly was submitted to Shutterstock on November 8 – two days after the clash at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

With the 22-year-old looking in a much better state than many feared, Tottenham fans have taken to social media to react to some possibly brilliant news.

This fan claimed it would be “massive” if van de Ven made a startling return.

This fan was more optimistic and pointed to his lack of leg support, which could be a clue regarding the extent of his injury.

This fan hailed the van de Ven’s possible return as a “miracle”.

This fan urged the Spurs fanbase to exercise some caution and revealed that no other photos of van de Ven in training were seen.

This fan questioned how old the image was but assured his followers that he’d be in tears if he was to make a speedy comeback.

This eagle-eyed supporter spotted that the cropped image may not be telling the full story.

In typical Tottenham fashion, this supporter did not want to get his hopes up just yet.

One fan was pleased that van de Ven didn’t look “too bad” but hoped that the image was taken recently.
