Sources: Bournemouth set to beat Wolves to signing of Bristol City star Alex Scott

Bournemouth are in advanced talks to sign Bristol City playmaker Alex Scott, sources have told Football Insider.

The south coast club are set to beat Wolves to the capture of the 19-year-old attacking midfielder.

Both clubs have tabled multiple bids for Scott that have been rejected by City, who have held out for their £25million valuation to be met.

Now, Bournemouth are set to win the race for Scott’s signature ahead of Wolves.

West Ham have also been linked with the England Under-20 international but look set to miss out to the Cherries.

Scott notched two goals and five assists in 49 appearances across all competitions last term – and has already managed 91 senior outings for Bristol City despite being just 19.

The Guernsey-born star, who trained with Bournemouth as a youth, is currently out of contract in June 2025.

Scott was named the EFL Championship Young Player of the Year for last term and was also named in the second-tier Team of the Season.

He proved his Premier League credentials with a standout display in the FA Cup against Man City in February – with treble-winning boss Pep Guardiola branding the midfielder “unbelievable”.

Bournemouth pipping Wolves in the race for Scott’s signature is likely to be another source of annoyance for Molineux coach Julen Lopetegui, who has spoken out against the club’s transfer policy this summer.

The Midlands club have sold the likes of Ruben Neves, Nathan Collins and Raul Jimenez but have only added Matt Doherty to their squad on a free transfer.
