Sources: Bournemouth, Watford and Bristol City race to sign Callum Lang

Bournemouth, Watford and Bristol City have made enquiries about signing Wigan attacker Callum Lang, sources have told Football Insider.

Lang, 23, was left out of the Wigan side for Tuesday’s draw with West Brom, amid the interest in his services before Thursday’s transfer deadline.

Bournemouth, Watford and Bristol City are all in the market for a forward and Lang figures highly on their wanted lists.

Lang has made five appearances for Wigan in the Championship so far this season.

He has not provided any attacking returns in that time.

The winger joined the Latics in May 2020 after signing from Shrewsbury.

He spent a season on loan with Motherwell in 2021 before returning to the DW stadium in 2021.

Bournemouth are yet to record a win in the Premier League this season.

On Tuesday (30 August), the Cherries confirmed the departure of manager Scott Parker following a 9-0 defeat to Liverpool.

Gary O’Neil has taken charge of the club while they search for a new manager.

Watford meanwhile are currently fourth in the Championship.

The Hornets have made eight transfers this season.

This includes Kourtney Hause from Aston Villa on loan as well as Hamza Choudhury on loan from Leicester.

Bristol City sit three places behind them in seventh.

Lang racked up 49 appearances for Wigan last season across all competitions.

During those outings, he scored 18 goals and provided 11 assists, including three goals in four appearances in the Latic’s FA Cup run.

In other news, according to sources, Bournemouth consider move for Bodo/Glimt manager Kjetil Knutsen.
