Sources: Bournemouth ready to hijack Leeds United's Willy Gnonto deal

Bournemouth are planning to hijack Leeds United’s deal to sign Willy Gnonto, sources have told Football Insider.

The Yorkshire giants are in talks to land the FC Zurich striker, 18, and have agreed personal terms with him.

But Bournemouth are ready to ambush their Premier League rival after their technical director Richard Hughes watched Gnonto in action against Hearts on Thursday in their Europa League qualifier at Tynecastle.

Leeds remain in pole position to sign Gnonto as they look to bolster their attacking options, but are wary of Bournemouth’s interest.

Football Insider revealed on 21 August that Leeds have offered £4m for the forward, but Zurich are holding out for a fee in the region of £7million.

Bournemouth have Dominic Solanke and Kieffer Moore as their only senior strikers and only Moore has found the net this season.

Leeds have not suffered the same struggles, netting seven times in their opening three Premier League games including three against Chelsea last weekend (21 August).

This season, Gnonto has made 11 appearances in all competitions for the Swiss side, scoring once.

In his 73 total senior appearances, Gnonto has scored 12 goals and registered nine assists.

He also already has four senior Italy appearances and one international goal to his name.

Bournemouth have experienced a mixed start to the season.

After winning their opening game against Aston Villa they have suffered losses to Man City and Arsenal.

In other news, one Leeds United expert has issued a ‘huge’ Jesse Marsch claim after ‘amazing’ thing he’s seen.
