'Uncontrolled, reckless and very dangerous' - Celtic fans can't believe 'horrendous' Kyogo collision saw no red

Celtic fans are baffled that Slobodan Rubezic did not get a straight red card for his “horrendous” challenge on Kyogo Furuhashi.

The Hoops thrashed the Dons 6-0 on Sunday (12 November), but a second-half head butt on Kyogo forced him immediately off the pitch and into hospital.

Rubezic saw just a yellow and did win the ball before the collision, but many were bemused that the Serbian was not immediately dismissed for a reckless challenge.

Kyogo confirmed on his social media that he has no memory of the incident and that he was given the all-clear by doctors, but former Premier League referee Dermot Gallagher insisted on Sky Sports that Rubezic was correctly not given his marching orders.

The Celtic fanbase has taken to social media to react to the incident, and they’re not happy.

This fan put all the blame on Rubezic for his “uncontrolled” tackle despite the fact he won the ball.

This supporter insisted that it was a straight red card but couldn’t help but have a sneaky dig at Rangers fans in the process.

One fan claimed that the slow-motion footage made the “horrendous” collision look softer than in reality.

Some fans found hypocrisy in the decision and could not see the difference between Rubezic’s challenge and a follow-through with a high boot which would typically see a straight red.

Other supporters targeted Gallagher’s “absolute drivel” directly and questioned his authority after not refereeing professionally for well over a decade.

One fan claimed there was “absolutely no need” for Rubezic’s actions and his dangerous play should have seen him sent off.
