'Such a liability' - Arsenal fans react in dismay to potential Gabriel Jesus replacement
Arsenal fans are seriously worried about Eddie Nketiah replacing Gabriel Jesus up front.
Football Insider has been gathering the reaction of fans after Jesus appears to have picked up a hamstring injury in Tuesday night’s (24 October) Champions League win over Sevilla.
The striker came off ten minutes early in the European clash after notching a goal and an assist in the 2-1 victory.
Boss Mikel Arteta later admitted that the player himself asked to be substituted and admitted following the game that it is “not good news”.
The Brazilian is set to undergo a scan to assess the extent of the injury and fans fear he could be facing another spell on the sidelines.
The 26-year-old missed the start of the season with a knee injury undergoing surgery on a knee injury that he picked up last December that kept him out of action for most of the second half of the 2022-23 season.
Nketiah has made 13 appearances for the Gunners so far this season, netting two goals in those outings.
He is the deputy centre-forward at Arsenal and was a regular scorer during Jesus’s injury absence last season, when his 39 appearances in all competitions yielded nine goals.
One supporter is worried Jesus is becoming a “liability” with injury problems.
