Man United fans react to Onana's display after his penalty save secures win against Copenhagen

Andre Onana has won over many Man United fans after his performance in the team’s 1-0 Champions League win against FC Copenhagen on Tuesday night (24 October).

Harry Maguire – who has also been having a hard time with supporters – scored the only goal to separate the sides before Onana saved a penalty in stoppage time to keep his team’s hopes of progress to the knockout stage alive.

The 27-year-old has endured a difficult start to life in Manchester after making the switch from Inter Milan in the summer and some high profile mistakes have left fans unconvinced by their new goalie.

Onana has now kept four clean sheets so far across all competition this season but has conceded 13 goals in nine Premier League matches and conceded seven goals in their previous two Champions League games.

But after Tuesday night’s performance, Onana may have gone partway to redeeming himself in the eyes of United fans.

One supporter insisted they have always known that Onana had more to offer the side.

Another supporter suggested this could be the start of Onana’s “redemption” arc at Old Trafford.

One fan suggested that Onana officially became a United player last night.

Another supporter suggested it was McTominay’s plan to give away the penalty to help out Onana.

But another suggested that the team Man United fans “know and love” is slipping away.

But one fan is still not convinced by the keeper.

And another suggested that it won’t be long before the fans turn on the keeper – and Maguire – once again.
