'I've got news for you' - Fans react to what Man United star said about Jordan Henderson

England fans have been reacting to Harry Maguire’s defence of Jordan Henderson after he was booed by England fans last week.

Football Insider has been gathering the reaction of England fans after Maguire claimed supporters who booed Henderson “aren’t England fans”.

Henderson received a negative reaction from supporters when he was substituted in Friday’s (13 October) 1-0 friendly win over Australia and when he came on in the win over Italy on Tuesday (17 October).

The former Liverpool captain was a vocal ally of the LGBTQ+ community during his time at Anfield but was criticised by fans and campaigners for his move to Saudi Arabia.

Some fans have also been critical of Henderson’s involvement in the England set up given his age and the new league he is playing in, with several youngsters and arguably more talented players missing out on a call up as a result.

Fans were divided in their opinion on Maguire’s comments.

One claimed the Man United defender would have no idea about what it is like to have “proper fans”:

Another, although fond of Maguire, insisted he is totally wrong about the England fans’ right to express their opinion:

Another suggested Maguire didn’t have a leg to stand on in the discussion:

And one fan even suggested it may be time for Maguire to hang up his boots:

But others came to Maguire’s defence, particularly given his experience with some sections of the fanbase:

Another urged fellow fans to give the players a break:

Another supported Maguire’s decision to defend his teammate:
