'I'd rather play in League One' - Liverpool fans react to takeover latest

Liverpool fans have been reacting to the possibility of Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani mounting a takeover bid after his Man United pursuit collpsed.

The Qatari businessman had been one of the final bidders in the running to purchase United after the Glazer family put the club up for sale last year.

Sheikh Jassim had proposed a full takeover of the Manchester club and had reportedly set aside £6.57billion to buy and then invest in United.

But the Sheikh withdrew his latest offer, believed to be around £5bn, last week and is said to be disappointed and angered by how the situation has played out and as a result, has been tipped to try and buy Liverpool next.

Owners Fenway Sports Group have previously stated that they would consider new shareholders if it was in the best interests of the club.

Principal owner John W Henry previously admitted that although they were keen for new invested in the club, they were not planning to sell up.
