'Moved me beyond words', 'Brought tears to my eyes' - Arsenal fans react to Kai Havertz message after 6-0 Lens thrashing

Arsenal fans have been getting emotional over Kai Havertz’s social media post after their 6-0 demolition of Lens in the Champions League on Wednesday night (29 November).

The German opened the scoring at the Emirates Stadium after 13 minutes, but Mikel Arteta could rely on five other separate goalscorers to give the Gunners the biggest victory by an English team over a French side in the competition’s history.

Havertz latched onto Gabriel Jesus’ header in the box and poked home his third Arsenal goal of the season despite Lens goalkeeper Brice Samba getting a touch on his effort.

Gunners fans have been hot and cold on Havertz this season since his £65million move from Chelsea in the summer, but many are hoping that this performance can kick start his career in North London.

They have taken to social media to hail their “king” and many spotted a familiar hashtag that was commonly used by former Arsenal hero Mesut Ozil.

This supporter claimed Havertz’s use of Ozil’s “YaGunnersYa” hashtag got him teary-eyed.

This fan claimed he prefers the Red side of London to the Blue side he once called home.

This fan hailed his performance as his best in an Arsenal shirt and is hopeful that he can continue his form.

One fan claimed his use of Ozil’s hashtag was “football heritage”.

One fan felt a lot of nostalgia after seeing his post.

Havertz’s post made this supporter lost for words.

This fan is confident that the 24-year-old will emulate his countryman’s excellence for the Gunners.

One fan is fully behind Havertz who could be his new favourite Gunner after his Champions League heroics.
