Erik ten Hag’s side signed Wout Weghorst on loan in January but he is only seen as a short-term solution up top.

According to talkSPORT (10 February), United and Chelsea are set to battle it out for Osimhen in the summer.

The centre-forward has been in sensational form this season, helping Napoli open up a 13 point lead at the top of Serie A.

When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of the news, Robinson said: “Osimhen is a world-class striker.

“He is doing incredible things at Napoli this year. They will win the league this year. There is no doubt about it and Osmihen has been a big part of that.

“Napoli will do well to hold onto their players because there is a lot of admiration around Europe for them.

“Man United need to sign a top centre-forward. Osimhen would be a real statement of intent. It would show that they are ready to go onto the next level and compete for the major trophies.

“Osimhen is a brilliant, brilliant striker. I think he would do really well in the Premier League.”
