Liverpool could seal 'amazing' Federico Chiesa signing after news - 'he'll come to England', says pundit

Paul Robinson has backed Liverpool to make a move for Juventus winger Federico Chiesa in the summer transfer window.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England said the 25-year-old “will come to England” later this year because of Juventus’ troubles of late.

Juventus are 13th in Serie A after receiving a points deduction because of “financial irregularities” and “false accounting”.

According to Italian outlet Calciomercatoweb (23 January), Liverpool have identified the Italy international as a potential summer target.

Chiesa has two-and-a-half years remaining on his contract in Turin.

When asked by Football Insider for his thoughts on the winger’s future, Robinson said: “I think he will come to England in the summer.

“Juventus will not have Champions League football next year. Players like Chiesa will want to play in the Champions League. I think it will be very difficult for Juventus to keep hold of him.

“I do not think he will be the only one either. We might see a few Juventus players moving to the Premier League in the summer.

“Chiesa is an amazing player. I would not be surprised if a club like Liverpool makes a bid for him in the summer because he’s got so many great attributes.”

Chiesa has not played much this season because of injury.

He has contributed one goal and two assists in his nine appearances across all competitions.
