'Understatement of the century', 'Let everyone down' - Leeds fans destroy Weston McKennie after 'disgraceful' comments

Leeds United fans have destroyed former loanee Weston McKennie after his recent reflection on his time at Elland Road.

The Juventus midfielder admitted he felt he’d “let certain people down” after his lacklustre spell with the Whites last season, which ended in relegation.

McKennie switched Turin for Yorkshire on deadline day in January and played every available Premier League game, but was part of the side that failed to win any of their last 10 games.

Whites fans let their feelings be known to the USMNT midfielder while he was still on the books but were far from impressed when he opted to leave the city straight after the club’s Championship status was confirmed.

He has since become a regular at Juventus and has started their last 10 Serie A ties, but fans had very little time or sympathy for his latest comments.

One supporter claimed that he should have had the quality to keep Leeds in the Premier League.

This fan sarcastically forgave the 25-year-old after he claimed he had become stronger after disasterous his loan spell.

This fan simply accused McKennie of letting “everyone down”.

One supporter was relieved that Leeds did not fork out a fee for McKennie.

This fan offered McKennie some advice on how to make it up to the Elland Road faithful.

Another suggested that now is the time for fans to move on from McKennie.

This fan mocked his comments and questioned what he even does on the pitch.

One fan questioned McKennie’s loyalty and claimed there was a way for supporters to see “the best” of his game.
