Sources: Tottenham ready to accelerate move to land 'Ange's dream signing'

Tottenham are ready to accelerate their move for an attacker signing in the January transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.

It is believed Spurs’ recruitment chiefs have assembled a three-man target list as the new year approaches.

Well-placed sources have told Football Insider that Ange Postecoglou’s “dream signing” is a versatile attacker who can play on both flanks as well as moving inside to spearhead the attack.

Natural winger Heung-min Son has led the line with huge success already in the 2023-24 campaign following the departure of Harry Kane in the summer window.

Postecoglou now wants another multi-dimensional forward as he targets an impressive finish this term.

Injuries to the likes of Richarlison and James Maddison have proved a big blow for the Australian in recent weeks – with Spurs leading the Premier League at one point and looking like surprise title contenders.

Son has scored eight goals across all competitions this season and is the club’s top scorer, with Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski notching three goals apiece to share second place in the scoring charts.

It is believed Tottenham are eyeing three targets ahead of the January transfer window.

Football Insider revealed last week (19 November) that Juventus and England Under-21 star Samuel Iling-Junior is a one option for Spurs.

It is believed Juve will hold out for an attractive bid for Iling-Junior, but could be forced to sell due to their precarious financial situation.

Postecoglou has also been forced to contend with injuries to fringe stars Manor Solomon and Ivan Perisic since the start of the 2023-24 campaign.

Brennan Johnson arrived from Nottingham Forest on transfer deadline day in the summer window but has managed just one goal and one assist so far this term.

Spurs sit fourth in the Premier League ahead of Sunday’s (26 November) clash with Aston Villa.

In other news, transfer ban now “a real possibility” for Tottenham as investigation begins.
