Sources: Brighton plotting to sign Man United scourge Bardghji

Brighton are plotting a move for FC Copenhagen starlet Roony Bardghji, sources have told Football Insider.

The 17-year-old fits the Seagulls’ criteria, with a well-placed source telling Football Insider that the south coast side see him as someone with huge potential.

Bardghji raised his exposure with a late winner in the 4-3 victory against Champions League against Man United last week (8 November).

The Sweden Under-21 international is being monitored by a host of top European and Premier League clubs, as well as Brighton.

However, it is believed the Seagulls feel they can offer the winger a quicker route to regular first-team football in the English top flight.

They have already helped the likes of Moises Caicedo, Evan Ferguson and Kaoru Mitoma become big names in the Premier League after allowing them to break through.

Bardghji could become the latest in a long list of young talents to join Brighton and thrive under manager Roberto De Zerbi.

The teenager has scored 11 goals in 24 appearances across all competitions for Copenhagen this season as they target another Danish Superliga title.

His contract at the Parken Stadium is set to expire in December 2025.

Bardghji broke through at senior level in the 2021-22 campaign and has already racked up 65 senior appearances.

Brighton, who are close to qualifying for the Europa League knockout stage, sit eighth in the Premier League despite drawing 1-1 at home against Sheffield United on Sunday (12 November).

The Seagulls are next in action against Nottingham Forest on 25 November.

In other news, Brighton set sights on signing Celtic star.
