Sources: Fulham to be one of busiest clubs in January after new deal agreed

Fulham are set to be one of the busiest Premier League clubs in the upcoming January transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.

The Cottagers are ready to back manager Marco Silva with a big war chest in the new year after he pledged his future to the club with a new contract.

Fulham confirmed last month (24 October) that Silva has put pen to paper – keeping him at the club until the end of the 2025-26 campaign.

His previous deal was set to expire at the end of the current season.

The ex-Everton boss was persuaded to sign that contract due to assurances he has been given on Fulham’s spending in the transfer market.

As such, he is believed to have been promised significant funds to improve his squad and take the Cottagers to the next level.

Silva led the Londoners to a 10th-place finish in the Premier League in the 2023-24 campaign – their first since promotion back to the top flight in the previous season.

This season, Fulham sit 15th in the table – six points clear of the relegation zone after 11 games.

The Cottagers are among the lowest scorers in the Premier League – perhaps a consequence of losing talismanic striker Aleksandar Mitrović without adequately replacing him.

He managed 15 goals across all competitions last term, while this season’s top scorers – Carlos Vinicius, Bobby De Cordova-Reid and Joao Palhinha – have just two.

Fulham are next in action against Aston Villa on Sunday (12 November).

In other news, Fulham could sign Darwin Nunez ally in real bargain.
